UL design for structures evaluate Fire-resistance Ratings of Fireproofing coating used on specific structures including beam, decking, floor assemblies, roof assemblies and columns.
The UL test will indicate the fireproofing thickness of intumescent fireproofing or cementitious fireproofing that is required for a given fire-rating of respective structures above. This thickness is valid only for structure size that was used . For instance, UL test D739 was based on a W8x28 steel beam (Unless your project has been designed with all of the beams being W8x28s, you will need to adjust the fireproofing thickness for each beam size used.)
Furthermore, UL design indicates applicators how to calculate fireproofing thickness for complex components which have diversified specific shapes (rectangular, square, triangle, L shape, H shape etc)
