SELECTING A SUITABLE FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEM

 

 

► How many hours of fire protection that your project require:

+ 0.5 hour-rating

+  1 hour- rating

+ 1.5 hour-rating

+  2 hour-rating

+ 2.5 hour-rating

+  3 hour-rating

+ 3.5 hour-rating

+  4 hour rating

 

► Will the protection be visible and require an aesthetic finish

► What is the shape of steel structure

Contact area which expose to heat indicate the thickness of fireproofing required for a given fire-rating of specific structures. Due to rapid rise of temperature, the larger in width steel structure is, the thicker required thickness of fireproofing is. Different structures (beam, decking, L shape etc) require the same hourly fire-ratings to protect steel from the same source of fire (tunnel, building, offshore) will need different fireproofing thickness respectively.
